Congratulations to Shelia Stubbs for winning a hard fought primary election as our next state representative for the 77th Assembly district. While ours was a disappointing result, the voters witnessed a vigorous campaign and I also want to thank Shabnam Lotfi and Mark Garthwaite for the great effort and integrity they illustrated throughout the campaign.
I greatly appreciate all the hard work by our volunteers and the contributions of so many and look forward to finding ways to work together to move Wisconsin in a solid, new direction!
Watch our campaign videos on the right including a 30-second ad, Wisconsin Eye interview, Tom Loftus endorsement, and League of Women Voters taping - good watching!
Wisconsin needs a solid, new direction. We've become a low-road state with policies that favor well-connected interests over the environment, workers, and our communities. I'm running to replace that extreme and divisive agenda with high-road policies that protect women's rights and voters' rights, support our teachers and public schools, revitalize the UW and Wisconsin Idea, ensure more affordable health care, and restore Wisconsin's environmental heritage and good government tradition.
As an elected official, nonprofit leader, and responsible business owner, I bring a unique background and a track-record for working effectively to solve problems and getting things done.
I'll work hard to move beyond the divisiveness and inaction of today's state politics with high-road, progressive policies to make Wisconsin a more vibrant and sustainable state again!
"The next legislative session will be crucial to the future of the UW, the Wisconsin Idea, the faculty, staff, students and the state. John is an experienced leader who will work diligently and effectively to defend the UW and support our university system." Tom Loftus, former Assembly Speaker and UW Regent
